I feel like Pixar would be the best company to make a tex movie. Not only because Tex is technically a Pixar character but is because that the animation on tex is Pixar quality beautiful!
Tex was made by Pixar for THX and now they still have him because they owned the character since his first appearance was the THX logo where it breaks down and he has to fix it. The company still has Tex as the mascot of THX
@@gasolinecowboy The original owner is Lucasfilm and the second owner was Creative (the company who made the Sound Blaster line of products) until THX was bought by Razer the current owner of the company. Since then Razer has been working along with THX to bring sound to your gaming experience
They've re-opened now. Even though I haven't got to see THX because it wasn't associated with said movie, I went to the theater to watch Lyle Lyle Crocodile. It was so cute!
Screw Dolby Cinema we need the THX Ultimate Cinema takeover. Much better: A collaboration with Zinkia using the Cimarron Deep Note in the Broadway pitch
When I was a little kid, when I first watched Cars, the DVD had the THX Tex logo, and every time it turned on I was always terrified of it and would go hide until it was over. Now that fear is gone, but I'm still sensitive to the Deep Note, it still scares me on the inside.
I saw this before it even premiered (it was set to unlisted for some reason, so that's why). Needless to say, the entire trailer had so much thought and life put into it and seeing Tex having his own friend nowadays is so heart-warming. Even though The Robot (which is essentially a drone) is a bit clumsy and hyper, it is fun to see them come to a compromise when Tex lets The Robot slam-dunk the orb into the center of the facility. Even at the very end, their relationship further encloses when they fist bump each other. This is, without a doubt, one of the best trailers THX has come up with. It's fun to see they still have a heart for all those nostalgic fans while incorporating a new character for the company. 10 out of 10, I would watch again.
WOW THX has evolved with their logos.. First it started with just a blue rectangle and then it went to Tex's first appearance and then special effects by the 2010s and then it turned into this.. As someone who started seeing THX from Disney VHS tapes, I can say they have come far
Hey THX, When I Was Little I Was Scared By That Creepy Deep Note. But In 2020 as An Adult, I’m No Longer Scared To The Deep Note. I’m Glad To Hear All The Deep Notes That You Did, THX.
@THX Ltd: Would it be possible to sell a disk of ever THX demo ever made upmixed into THX enhanced and sold for everyone to buy a copy? That would be pretty awesome. Hire a couple interns to compile all that. Just don't make it a demo disk for only select people to own. Sell it to all as a physical media.
Come to think of it, THX should make a new demo disc with ALL of their trailers (even the original 1988 'Cimarron' mix) in full quality video and sound. They could even put them out in UHD Blu-ray as well!
Needless to say, I think we can all be in agreement that this video can also be called "the return of TEX", to commemorate The return of our friend from THX
You gotta close your eyes, and then the spatial audio is really dramatic. Definitely one of the best simulations of surround sound out of 2 channels that I've heard.
I still have a plushie of Tex! When I was little I absolutely loved the THX logos, especially the ones with him, and my grandfather worked in sound tech and knew a guy who worked for THX and got him to send over a plushie of Tex.
Ah, yes. This one. It relieves me to find out that Tex finally has a friend after about 26 years of being alone. I like the spatial audio in this video; it sounds so frickin' cool! HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY THX!!! 😂🎉
His friend Bob the drone reminds me of Eva from Wall e. Speaking about that, it would so awesome if Ted and bob meet one of the Pixar characters like Toy Story, Monsters Inc, The Incredibles, Cars, And even Wall E.
I miss him so much. Which makes me curious if there was a tex the robot which had him traveling through certain movies that shows THX trailers (examples are Ice age Star wars, or through pixar movie from the 2000's) on a hunt for his moo can. Who would play it?
In a glass room in the same spaceship from the Genesis trailer, Tex and a drone named Bob are trying to insert a ball into a slot in front of a window with a floating THX logo in the background. When Tex tries to insert the ball for the first time, the THX logo flickers slightly and the ball pops out of the slot. When Tex is distracted trying to fix a small door that somehow got open, Bob starts playing with the ball like a basketball just before Tex tries to grab it. Bob eventually loses the ball as it rolls towards the screen while he follows it, hitting the camera in the process. The camera then tips over and various objects fall off-screen, such as a ladder, while Tex is visibly shocked. Tex flies over and locks onto the camera as what appears to be a fire extinguisher flies over him and lands on the floor. The ball then rolls towards him and Bob falls to the floor next to him and loses power. Tex flies over and fixes Bob back up. Tex is about to insert the ball into the socket, but notices that Bob is clearly sad. They compromise, and Tex allows the drone to slam the ball into the socket, causing the THX logo to turn on and light up. Both robots step aside as the camera zooms in on the THX logo. They then press their fists. The screen fades to the THX logo, with the text "SPATIAL AUDIO" fading underneath.
Whatever happened to these logos? They used to be on practically every DVD and VHS in the early 2000s, but I haven't seen a new DVD or a Blu-ray with the logo in years.
According to the THX site, Red Tails was the last DVD to be certified. But yeah, you're right. My dad has always wondered why THX isn't shown on physical media anymore...
